Andrew Wyeth was one of America’s most recognized and beloved artists of the twentieth century. To mark the 100th anniversary of Andrew Wyeth’s birth, the Brandywine River Museum will present an exhibition of over one hundred of Wyeth’s finest paintings and works on papers selected from major museums and private collections. Your docent-led tour of Andrew Wyeth: In Retrospect will bring together both well-known and rarely seen works created between the mid-1930s and Wyeth’s death in 2009 that reveal the subjects that continually inspired Wyeth and the evolution of his imagery. So come and explore the art and the landscape that inspired three generations of Wyeths and other renowned artists as you enjoy American Art in a spectacular setting overlooking the bucolic Brandywine River.
