History, Health, & Horses
AUGUST 27 - 28, 2017 2 DAYS/ 1 NIGHT
Saratoga Springs is arguably the most beautiful small city in the country. There is a kind of magic, an elusive, indefinable something that sets it apart and makes it special. One of the oldest tourist destinations in the United States, Saratoga is one of those special getaway spots where everything is just, well, pretty close to perfect. The city’s lovely tree-lined streets and grand old Victorian homes, porch swings swaying and gardens brimming with colorful flora bring to mind a gentler era. World-class horse racing, renowned performing art, natural spring spas, fabulous boutiques, antiques and restaurants mean there is something for everyone. You can walk everywhere; it’s that kind of place. The only drawback is you may never want to leave. We’ll stay overnight at the Saratoga Hilton in downtown Saratoga Springs.
You’ll enjoy a memorable afternoon of racing at historic Saratoga Race Course. You’ll have reserved grandstand seats which are completely in the shade. Built in 1864, it is America’s oldest - and many believe the most beautiful race track in North America. Sports Illustrated recently named Saratoga Race Course as one of the top 20 sporting venues in the world.
You’ll also visit the Saratoga Spa State Park where you can see the springs, taste the mineral waters, and visit the artists retreat at the famous Yaddo Gardens. You’ll spend some time in beautiful Congress Park, located in the center of town, with its healthful mineral springs, splendid fountains and a unique, historic Carousel.
We’ll visit a working thoroughbred horse farm just outside of Saratoga and see how racehorses are cared for.
Includes: Bus transportation, 1 night hotel accommodations at the Saratoga Hilton, 1 breakfast and 1 dinner, plus all sightseeing, admissions, taxes, gratuities and baggage handling.
